THC ONLY Drinks: Many cannabis-infused beverages only contain THC. THC ONLY Drinks are great in a social setting— you may yourself having a nice happy, social buzz.
THC + Additional Cannabinoids or Adaptogen Drinks: Often referred to in the industry as a “functional beverage,” these drinks can provide a happy, social, euphoric sensation. The inclusion of additional cannabinoids (or compounds from the hemp plant) or adaptogens (natural, functional substances like herbs and mushrooms) can provide additional wellness benefits.
THC: Known to be a happy, euphoric mood booster! (buzzy sensation)
CBD: In the case of cannabis-infused drinks, CBD is often added to balance the THC, to help prevent that “too high, feeling of paranoia.” CBD may also reduce anxiety, inflammation, minor aches and pains.
CBN: Often added as a natural body relaxer, without causing drowsiness.
CBG: Known to clear your mind, and lift brain fog.
THCV: May curb the munchies feeling, often associated with THC consumption. Also could suppress appetite.
Try not to panic. There has never been a documented case of an adult overdosing on hemp (or cannabis). The feeling will simply wear off and you’ll feel fine again! (Unlike alcohol!)
Some tricks if you don’t feel well:
- Don’t drive or operate heavy machinery.
- Take CBD: CBD is another part of the hemp plant (non-intoxicating). If you consume CBD when you feel “too high” from THC, it helps to balance your body and bring you back to a place of comfort. Beverages that contain both THC and CBD provide a good balance to help consumers stay in a comfortable euphoric place (and never reach the state of paranoia).
- Best advice is to just hang out for a little bit. Find a comfortable place to sit. Drink lemon water and eat something! It will slowly wear off. You’ll likely start to feel better in 30–60 minutes.
- Chew on a whole peppercorn. Pepper releases properties to help you feel more balanced.
- Go to sleep. Sleep it off.
